From the Manufacturer
The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When home-steading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Today Frye remains true to its roots with its line of heritage boots, but continues to innovate as it introduces chic new handbags, pumps, and sandals to its collection.

By brtrisk
It's a lovely bag, not oversized but still large enough to fit a 13" laptop. However, Amazon sells two versions of this bag. This version of it does not have loops to connect the shoulder strap to the side of the bag. The shoulder strap on this version only connects to the handle on the top flap.

I love this bag, I have the small size also for everyday. I use this one for meetings, trips, etc. I had problems with the first one that I ordered, the handle was bent and I imagine it would have broken with heavy use, so I ordered a replacement. The replacement also had a problem, the stitching was off in a couple of places, the dust bag was missing, all of the hardware had been unwrapped and it looked as if it had been used and then returned. Sooo, another replacement. I got my bag with a super deal, but even so, I want it to be right. Third bag was perfect. The leather smell is intoxicating, and it has very well appointed compartments. It's about 10 1/2 H by 13 1/3 W. The magnets are placed in the leather, not exposed like in the small, so IMO they are not as potent. So, the latch does most of the work. I ordered the Taupe, its a brown with a little gray, the leather is distressed, like Hobo. I conditioned mine and it brought out more of the brown, so I think it's perfect.

By Pamela Guelpa
I bought this bag after debating whether or not it was worth the price. I was very excited when it arrived and used it for about a week with the long strap attached before the hook on the right side ripped off! Mind you, I don't carry much more than sunglasses, a wallet, mini-makeup bag, book and keys in it. One week later the left-hand side ripped off. It's now at the repair shop being fixed and reinforced, but once I pick it up I will be hesitant to put anything more than the bare essentials in it, which is a shame because it is a beautiful (and EXPENSIVE) bag.
